Mic Handz has been putting in serious work in the New York Underground scene in the past couple of years. Collaborations with Rockness Monstah and Sean Price (of Heltah Skeltah), Mims, Shabaam Sahdeeq and other New York underground heavy hitters, plus throwing and hosting his own Hip Hop events, his face on your screen, his words in your ear. Mic Handz made enough noise this past year to rank in the “Top 50 Emerging Artists of 2013”, according to AllHipHop.com.
This latest joint venture, “BRIGHT LIGHTS“, will once again make you sit up and take notice as the Brooklyn MC is joined by the legendary Jaz-O, best known as Jay Z’s mentor and rhyme collaborator in the late 80’s (“Hawaiian Sophie”) and 90’s (“The Originators”). Who can forget the smash hit single “Nigga What, Nigga Who (Originator 99)” off Jay Z’s Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life.
Directed by Donald Robinson Cole, the video is about the bright lights of the city and the pride of reppin’ your hometown.
