EVENT: 90NOW – A Celebration of the 90’s NY Underground Hip Hop Scene @BIERWAX [3/26/25]

90NOW is the brainchild of a group of MCees, DJ’s and Beatmakers who gained prominence during the 1990’s NY Underground Hip Hop renaissance, around events at the places such as Nuyorican Poets Cafe, such as Rocky LaMontagne’s WORDS! and AllThat! monthly Hip Hop and spoken word showcases, the Legendary Lyricist Lounge, Braggin’ Rites and Blaze Magazine MC Battles.

Started in 2019, the series got shut down with the rest of the world during the Covid, but returned with a vengence after that.

This 90NOW features some heavy hitting Beatmakers / Producers and will be hosted by the freestyle fanatic, the Forrest Gump of rap, A.L. (which stands for All Lyrical if you don’t know). But besides him, expect to see dozens of your favorite Underground Hip Hop legends from the 1990’s to early 2000’s in attendance, either playing beats, promoting their current musical endeavors or just freestyling on the mic, for the love of the culture.

And beer. There will be lots of beer (and other alcoholic beverages)!
