TeamHOMI doesn’t just rep for battling, as those who have checked out Swave Sevah’s recent album Son of A One Armed Man or PH’s Know The Ledge, surely must know. This time with some heat it’s Bugz, with a heartfelt trip down memory lane, “Used To Be”. The way he flips the words “used to” will keep you listening, as he gets deep, rapping about growing up conflicted. “Smart enough to stand out, but dumb enough to wanna fit in,” Bugz vents over a lamentful Meek Mills track, with a soulful chorus. A good student, but poor and struggling to eat, with a crack addicted mother, among other things, Bugz turned to that life, to increase his dividends. Bugz makes us feel his pain.
Directed by @Capnels, the black and white video has a nostalgic effect, with a cameo from crew member Swave Sevah.
