Brooklyn Nets Logo: Designed By Jay-Z

Brooklyn has a new home team – The Brooklyn Nets! They recently premiered their new logos & apparel, at a Models, on Flatbush Ave across the street from the stadium. Coach Avery Johnson, General Manager Billy King, Bruce Ratner, Borough Pres Marty Markowitz and team member Brook Lopez (wow, his name is almost “Brooklyn”), spoke at the unveiling of the logo and several tee shirt and hat designs.

Not only did Jay-Z design the new logo, which has two versions, one inside a shield and one inside a circle, I’m sure he was instrumental (no pun intended) in the slogans “Hello Brooklyn” and “Brooklyn’s Finest”, which adorn some of the apparel and just happen to be titles of Jay-Z songs.

We at MCMI have our own “Brooklyn’s Finest” tee shirt, which we are about to reveal with our next installment of “Brooklyn’s Finest” mixtapes, for the summer. For now I leave you with a link to the first tape, by yours truly GMS & DJ DP ONE. It’s filled with classic Brooklyn bangers, old and new.
