First off, shout out to Duck Down Music, Bernadette, Dru Hah, the whole Bootcamp Click for keeping Sean Price memory alive with these releases.
For those who don’t know, MCMI and Duck Down have had an informal alliance, as PH and Sean Price have collaborated on music and PH went on tour opening for Bootcamp Click. Since both ascended back-to-back, the two families and crews have grown closer. LR Blitzkrieg and myself were in the Duck Down studio when Sean and PH recorded Battering Bars off of Sean’s album Mic Tyson, watching the two legendary MC’s put in work. We used to book P for MCMI Showcases and nowadays support Bernadette, Rock and the crew in anyway we can.
This drop is not a new song, it was a video that came out about 11 years ago, but what is special is that it is released on a collectible 7″ Neon Green Vinyl, released through Duck Down Music & Fat Beats Distribution. There is a Radio Edit and Instrumental, so this is fun for vinyl enthusiast, DJ’s, and those who want to freestyle over the beat.
“How Sean Price Stole Christmas” showcases Sean’s humor and wit. You probably already knew Sean Price was a mean one, but if you listen to Rockness Monstah (his partner in the group Heltah Skeltah) tell it, it was when Price went solo that he started to tap into that side of himself, still being hardbody, but also showing the lighter side of his personality.
The song is definitely Rated R, though, so you might not want to play this around children, even though there is an animated video, it is NOT FOR KIDS!! Lol. It’s for us adult “kids” who stay young at heart. Cop the vinyl to support the legacy!
RIP Sean Price!
