Substantial – ‘Art Is Where The Home Is’ (HIWTAI Remixes) is a collection of remixes & live versions of songs from his critically acclaimed Mello Music Group debut, ‘Home Is Where The Art Is’. If you loved the original, executive produced by producer Oddisee, you will want to check out this somewhat more mellow version, featuring production by Bop Alloy’s Marcus D, Japanese beatsmith Haruka Nakamura, Deacon The Villain from CunninLynguists, DMV producers, Sean Toure’, Jsoul & The Other Guys, Jazz Hop production team A June & J Beat & Jackson, and Mississippi’s 5-D.
There are also some tracks featuring DC area’s live band Sound of the City, who jazz up the singles ‘See Hear’ and ‘Check My Resume’. One new song on the project is the previously unreleased ‘Lost Lost’ featuring Jsoul, produced by yU of Diamond District.
A CD of the Remixes is only available as an import on the Japanese boutique label Rockwell Product Shop. But you can get it digitally from Substantial’s own Bandcamp page and listen to or download the original album from Mell0 Music Group
Substantial is currently on tour with Marcus D (as the group Bop Alloy). For tour info, check http://www.bopalloy.com/showdates and click ‘Another Day In The Life Of…‘ to hear their 2nd album.
